THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU IF...

HERE'S SOME COMMON QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED, AND THE ANSWERS... DO YOU RESONATE?

Experience - I don't have much experience in strength training techniques (using mainly a combination of body weight, barbells and kettlebells), is it good to have experience with these before I start?

ANSWER: Although experience is great, what we know is that it takes 300 repetitions to learn a good movement pattern and 3000 to un-learn a bad one. We take everyone, regardless of experience through all the fundamentals to ensure we don't miss anything that might become an issue later on.

My purpose for starting was to be pain-free and feel strong again. At the start, I had painful, weak knees which bothered me while I slept, getting out of bed, sitting down and standing up, everything was painful. Now it's 150% improvement. The first time in a long time I've been able to do squats with no pain. I can play hockey again and recover in only a day instead of a week. There was one game of hockey where I was just a killer on the field because I didn't feel restrained by pain. It's been a great experience to see how far I've come.

If you continually run into the same problems you've got to try something different, and this program was definitely different for me.

Confidence - In the past I've had some bad experiences with old injuries or pain coming back and stop me from continuing, how will this time be different?
ANSWER: Our Coaches have been fortunate enough to be in the trenches with you and probably have experienced something very similar and have had to take the time to learn how to do things the right way. We have the experience and skills to ensure we build you up, not break you down. We also have a close team of health professional we work with to ensure you continue to get better.

I started the Beginner Strength Program at ETR because I knew I had to do something different. I was constantly getting injuries from other gym workouts and I'd had enough of feeling exhausted after so much cardio. I wasn’t recovering and I wasn’t seeing progress. The Beginner Strength Program was great as it took me back to basics with a real focus on breathing, mobility and technique. With 6 or less people in a class, Jason really keeps an eye on what you are doing and gives you constant feedback. I also really like that the classes are always different, and there are no mirrors and no big egos! I have been going to ETR for 6 months now and I can deadlift more than my body weight - double the amount I could do when I started.

I never would have thought I could achieve personal bests in such a short time frame at 45. I have more energy and less pain now than I have had in years.

Scary - Is it just about lifting heavy weights?
ANSWER: No. It's far from it. In order to express strength, your body needs to be in a state that is optimal to do so. This means removing any unwanted stress and increasing movement efficiency first. We teach you all you need to know about mobility and good movement so that when you're ready, you can increase your strength as you please.

Wanted to feel stronger. I would always start things and never follow through. I know where I want to be but I'm not sure how to get there and I just don't want to take risks out of fear of hurting myself. I feel like I needed this. I needed someone to look over me and guide me in the right direction. Now I feel like I'm doing the right things and hurting myself less. For the first time in my life I can do a full body push ups. If you feel stuck, going through all the generic gym approaches and not getting results you have to change your approach and this program is the best place to start.

Strength - Why is building strength the number 1 thing we focus on?
ANSWER: Life is a constant stress acting upon us, physically, mentally, emotionally. Everything is wearing us down every day. If you're not building resilience against these stressors, you will become a victim to them eventually. Our purpose is to teach you the skills so that when the tough times come, you have the strength ability to respond, for yourself and those around you.

A week and a half ago my Mother and I were attacked while at the shops by would be thieves. BUT I was able to defend us. As I was escorted to my car by Security, I thought to myself the Coaches at ETR would be so proud of me.

Because of the Strength Program

  1. I was strong in mind and body

  2. My Legs/Arms and Core were strong.

  3. There was no fear or rush of adrenaline.

  4. My mind was calm to deal with the assault

  5. Jason and Jason were in my head! Stand tall and Brace!

If it weren't for the 8 week Beginner Strength Program the outcome would have been different.

Afterwards my Mother commented on how strong I was and it was in that moment I was thankful for the training at Earn The Right.

I originally did the program 2 years ago with spine, hip and shoulder injuries which stopped me from doing a lot in the gym out of fear of injuring myself more and causing more pain. When joining the program it was quite amazing, my first deadlift was 85kg which was a big thing for me. I realised my body wasn't as broken as I thought it was.

After 13 months travelling, I came back again to do it again. My biggest lessons this time around is it's ok to take 1 step back so you can take 2 steps forward. This time around I squatted 70kg, a PB for me, which I'm pretty happy with because I have a hip labrum tear and thought I'd never be able to squat again.

With injuries, it's hard when you're so invested in looking after yourself and there's something you can't do all of a sudden, you feel frustrated, helpless and you feel like it's the end. So I'm thankful I've found the guys at ETR.

It had been a long time since I’d been to a gym before I started at ETR. The style of training and the great

coaching has made it very easy to get engaged. I’m loving the training and enjoying the results of feeling stronger. A Personal Best Deadlift of 150kg certainly surprised me. I’m looking forward to what lies ahead. Thanks to Jason and the ETR crew.
